Photography Competition:

"Under Southern Skies"

In celebration of this year’s conference theme, "Under Southern Skies", we invite all delegates, staff, and partners to share their unique visual stories. This competition celebrates the changing landscapes, the dedicated teams, and the architectural backbones that define rural healthcare.

A curated shortlist of entries will be professionally printed and showcased during the conference.

Please note, submissions are not currently open and will open in December.

Submissions must be entered into one of the following three categories:

Judging and Awards

Two distinct sets of awards will be presented at the conclusion of the conference:

Judges' Choice Award

An expert panel will select one definitive winner from each of the three categories based on creativity, technical skill, and relevance to the theme.

People's Choice Award

All shortlisted, printed entries will be displayed onsite at the conference. Attendees will vote digitally during the event, with the highest-voted image taking out the overall People's Choice prize.


Technical Specifications

(For Printing)

Because the shortlisted photos will be printed for a physical exhibition, please adhere strictly to these quality guidelines:

  • File Format: Strictly JPEG or PNG formats only. Do not submit HEIC (Apple phone format) or RAW files.

  • Resolution: Minimum resolution of 2400 x 3600 pixels. Images must be crisp and unpixelated when printed at exhibition scale.

  • Aspect Ratio: Images should be shot or cropped in standard printable ratios (e.g., 4:3 or 3:2). Avoid extreme panoramic crops.

  • The Compression Rule: Do not transfer your photo via messaging apps (like WhatsApp or Messenger) before uploading. These apps compress files and strip out the resolution required for high-quality printing.
Submission Instructions
  • Entry Limit: Maximum of 3 entries per person.

  • How to Submit: Upload them via the link on this page (the submission portal and link will be listed here when submissions open in December).

  • File Naming Convention: To ensure anonymous and fair judging, name your files using this format: Category_YourInitials_ImageTitle (e.g. OurLandscapes_JD_DawnOverTheClinic.jpg).

  • Required Accompanying Information: For each entry, you must provide:
  • Entrant Full Name
  • Organisation / Department
  • Selected Category
  • Image Title
  • Short Caption (Max 50 words): Describe the story or context behind the photograph.
